Global monthly message
The global monthly message should be changed every month. The current message was last modified on June 30. It is:
New Email Notificaiton System for Editors
- EyeWiki is transitioning to a new email notification system for editors when their articles are due for a 6-month review
- In the past articles assigned to multiple editors were included in one email notification
- In the future each editor will receive a personalized email with links to access all articles pending review
- We hope to launch the new system later in the summer
- The former email system is no longer working so please login to "My Portal" regularly to check for articles that are due for review
Tip of the Month: How do I add videos to articles?
- Videos smaller than 10 MB can be added as a local video
- First, upload the video file to EyeWiki
- Permitted file types: avi, ogv, mp4, m4v, webm
- There are 3 ways to add videos locally that are smaller than 200 MB using one of the 3 edit links found in all articles: Edit with form, Edit source, or Edit
- More details
- Videos larger than 10 MB must be added from YouTube
- Get the YouTube ID from the video on YouTube.com
- Choose "Edit source" and click on the location of the content where the video is to be inserted
- Add a line in the page with the ID wrapped with the "YouTube" tag"
- More details
- Find other great tips and FAQs on the Getting Started page
Section Statistics: All EyeWiki Sections should be at least 60% up to date. We will be gathering section statistics at the end of each month to share here and at the annual all Editors Meeting. Please regularly review and maintain your articles to keep your section up to date.
Find Your Article Assignments: Please visit your own section Portal to review the status of your section and your assigned articles
- Log in and go to the My Portal link at the top of the page next to "Recent Changes"
- To find your own article assignments, sort the article table by “Assigned Editor (portal member)” or use the filter
- Also, find your article assignments on your Talk page between your Name (after logging in) and Preferences
- Review the Quick-Start Guide for Editors for helpful tips. For easy reference, this guide is also linked to each section Portal page
Sign Off When You Have Finished an Article Review: When you complete an article review go to Edit with Form at the top of the article and change:
- The date to be current
- The status to Up to Date
- The reviewer's name to your own (This is how we know which editor last reviewed an article)
