Since January 1, 2026 we have added 38 new articles. We have also collectively edited 1740 articles since the start of the year out of our current 1747 articles.
New Email Notification System for Editors has been Launched
- You will now received personalized emails to remind you when it's time to review your assigned articles. You will also received monthly reminders until the reviews are completed
- Please ensure that eyewiki@aao.org is on your safe senders list so that you recieve these and other important emails

What do I do if I find duplicate or overlapping articles?
- Articles addressing the same content under different titles should be combined
- Articles with content that could be addressed as a section of another article e.g., Management Options should be combined
- Sometimes a separate article may be warranted if the section is lengthy and detailed
- In these cases create inter-articles links
- Whether to combine or split articles is an editorial judgement call, contact your lead editor and EyeWiki staff for guidance
- If you have combined articles, contact EyeWiki staff so they can delete the article not being retained, create a redirect for Internet traffic, and merge the list of contributors

Section Statistics: All EyeWiki Sections should be at least 60% up to date. We will be gathering section statistics at the end of each month to share here and at the annual all Editors Meeting. Please regularly review and maintain your articles to keep your section up to date.
Find Your Article Assignments: Please visit your own section Portal to review the status of your section and your assigned articles
- Log in and go to the My Portal link at the top of the page next to "Recent Changes"
- To find your own article assignments, sort the article table by “Assigned Editor (portal member)” or use the filter
- Also, find your article assignments on your Talk page between your Name (after logging in) and Preferences
- Review the Quick-Start Guide for Editors for helpful tips. For easy reference, this guide is also linked to each section Portal page
Sign Off When You Have Finished an Article Review: When you complete an article review go to Edit with Form at the top of the article and change:
- The date to be current
- The status to Up to Date
- The reviewer's name to your own (This is how we know which editor last reviewed an article)
