Bordatella Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Summary: Numerous reports of infectious ocular pathologies have been documented in children and adults sick with bartonella, bordetella, borrelia, coronavirus, influenza, measles, mumps, mycoplasma, toxoplasmosis, treponema, tuberculosis, and varicella, to name a few. This EyeWiki article intends to clearly list documented cases of ocular pathologies (i.e. optic neuritis, subchorionic hematoma) associated with Bordetella pertussis infection, aka whooping cough, with references cited. Additionally, the article will report on epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, symptoms, physical examination, clinical diagnosis, diagnostic procedures, laboratory tests, differential diagnosis, management, prognosis, and prevention of Bordetella pertussis infection. Notably, the article will also include case reports of ocular pathologies following Bordetella vaccination administration.
