Pediatric Ophthalmology/Strabismus: February EyeWiki Update

Dear EyeWiki Editors,

Since January 1, 2026 we have added 34 new articles. We have also collectively edited 1737 articles since the start of the year out of our current 1745 articles.

New Email Notificaiton System for Editors

  • EyeWiki has transitioned to personalized emails to notify editors when their assigned articles are due for a 6-month review
  • Now each editor receives their own targeted email with links to access all their articles pending review
  • You will no longer see links to articles for other editors in this email
  • Please review and sign off these articles at your earliest convenience to ensure that EyeWiki content is accurate

Tip of the Month: How can I add or update references in articles?

  • If you follow this method, EyeWiki will automatically number or renumber the references and capture all the places where a reference is cited within the article
    • Use the visual editor (Edit link)
    • Place your cursor where you want to cite a reference. Click "Cite" in the edit menu and then select "Basic" to add a new reference
    • To place a reference you've already cited within the article choose "Re-Use"
    • If the article is new or without any existing references place your cursor at the end of the article, where you want the reference list to appear. Click "Insert" in the edit menu and then select "reference list"
    • More detailed instructions
  • Find other great tips and FAQs on the Getting Started page

Section Statistics: All EyeWiki Sections should be at least 60% up to date. We will be gathering section statistics at the end of each month to share here and at the annual all Editors Meeting. Please regularly review and maintain your articles to keep your section up to date.

Find Your Article Assignments: Please visit your own section Portal to review the status of your section and your assigned articles

  • Log in and go to the My Portal link at the top of the page next to "Recent Changes"
  • To find your own article assignments, sort the article table by “Assigned Editor (portal member)” or use the filter
  • Also, find your article assignments on your Talk page between your Name (after logging in) and Preferences
  • Review the Quick-Start Guide for Editors for helpful tips. For easy reference, this guide is also linked to each section Portal page

Sign Off When You Have Finished an Article Review: When you complete an article review go to Edit with Form at the top of the article and change:

  • The date to be current
  • The status to Up to Date
  • The reviewer's name to your own (This is how we know which editor last reviewed an article)
